Is this too simplistic of an explanation?

Colleges are used to dealing with different grading methods. I doubt this is even going to be an issue. At most, you might have to explain that you took some courses through a distance learning program and did the others through some other method, but I doubt you'll have to justify why your mom used letter grades.
