First time mom I have some ? bout crying, swings, mats etc/?

I have an 8 week old son that loves to be held! When he is awake he pretty much cries unless we carry him around so he can look at everything! No, he does not have colic and really all I think it is that he just likes to be held by his mom and dad & look around! He hates his carseat, he hates the carrier, the vacuum does nothing, clical music forget it! A sling will not work bc their is just one position he likes to be held other then that no way hes not having it. He sleeps all night and in generally good about naps but the problem is when hes up he wants just to be carried around, its VERY hard! I am having major back and arm pain and my husband as well. Ok so the next ? is this: I do not have him a swing or play mat do you think for the way my son sounds one would be a good idea or no and if so which one and why? Plus I would love to hear your stories and tips!
