What would the punishment be for this type of fight?

if to 8th graders got in a fight in the middle of a field after school, and one was bulky and musculer and was beating the **** of the the other one and wouldnt let up. He was bleeding all over the place to the point where he almost couldn't stand up. So a pedestrian calls the police and a cop car comes and takes both of the kids away..What would be the punishment for this? like Jail? court? what would happen???
